Schools ask two questions before they call: what a logo costs, and what a rebrand costs. The figures below are the starting prices on the pricing page. A project can cost more than the starting price. Nothing here is a final quote.
School Branding Agency has worked with 250+ schools since 2010. A separate note on the school branding statistics page says a typical custom school logo or mascot project here costs $1,500 to $3,000 and takes 2 to 4 weeks. The packages below are the current published floors.
How much a school logo costs
Mascot logo design is sold in three packages. Each one includes ownership of the final design.
| Package | Starting price | Time | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $1,500 | 2 to 4 weeks | A primary mascot logo, two initial concepts, one revision round, and PNG, SVG, and PDF files |
| Complete | From $2,500 | 3 to 5 weeks | Mascot, wordmark, and secondary mark, full-color and one-color versions, sports marks, and vendor-ready files |
| Championship | From $4,500 | 4 to 6 weeks | A full athletic identity, uniform and spirit-wear lockups, and a brand guidelines document |
Essentials is paid in full to begin, because it is under $2,000. Complete and Championship are 50 percent to begin and 50 percent when you choose a direction, before revisions.
The package is the main cost factor. One primary mark is a different job from a system that has to work on a jersey, a gym floor, and a website. Details are on the mascot logo design page.
How much a school rebrand costs
A logo is not a rebrand. A rebrand is the identity applied across the places families actually see the school.
| Package | Starting price | Time | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-school identity | From $4,500 | 4 to 6 weeks | Logo system, color palette, typography, and usage guidelines |
| Complete rebrand | From $8,500 | 6 to 10 weeks | The identity across athletics, academics, and signage, a guidelines document, rollout templates, and a stakeholder presentation |
Both are 50 percent to begin and 50 percent when you choose a direction. See visual identity design.
Brand strategy and enrollment marketing are not on a fixed package. Those are scoped on a call. The pricing page says so, and it does not publish a number for them.
How much a mascot costume costs
The pricing page lists two costume builds. Shipping is quoted separately. The build is 8 to 12 weeks from design approval.
| Build | Starting price | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Simple | From $3,995 | Your existing mascot adapted for a costume, concept sketches you approve, a sculpted foam head and full body suit |
| Premium | From $5,500 | Higher-detail sculpting, premium materials, accessories, and cooling for hot climates |
A costume is paid in full. That payment reserves the production slot and starts the build. Shipping is quoted separately.
These prices are for a build adapted from a design you already have. If the mascot has to be designed from scratch, Simple starts at $4,750 and Premium starts at $6,250.
The school mascot statistics page keeps a separate note from order records: most custom costume orders land between $4,000 and $6,500, and entry builds start at $3,995 plus shipping. Use the pricing page for the package you would order. The statistics line is order history.
What a district pays
A district or multi-school program starts at $22,000. The price is scoped to the number of campuses. It includes district and school lockups, a multi-campus identity system, brand guidelines, and a phased rollout. Payment is in milestone installments. There is no fixed week count: the timeline is scoped to the district. See district branding.
That is our starting figure. Districts hiring other firms have reported higher design contracts. Three that we checked:
- Aurora Public Schools in Colorado contracted Mission Minded for $200,000 for its 2022 logo redesign. The district did not give a cost for rebranding materials. It said the rollout would take two years and that parts of it would be absorbed into planned maintenance. Sentinel Colorado, August 10, 2022.
- Rochester Public Schools in Minnesota paid Fieldtrip $101,529 in 2025 for a new logo plus mission, vision, and values. The communications director said the investment was meant to last at least a decade. Updating the boardroom cost another $4,893. The district said the rest of the physical update was still being done in phases, so that total was not set. Post Bulletin, October 20, 2025.
- Springfield Public Schools in Missouri paid Fieldtrip $85,280 in 2024 for marketing research and a design study, including surveys and focus groups. Physical sign changes were to follow as budgets allowed. Springfield Daily Citizen, August 15, 2024.
More reported contracts are collected on the school branding statistics page. The design contract and the cost of new signs, uniforms, and vehicles are different bills. The articles above treat them that way.
For scale, the median annual wage for graphic designers was $62,960 in May 2025, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. A logo package is a project fee. It is not a designer’s salary.
What changes the number
Four things in the published packages move the price.
How much of the identity you need. A primary logo, a full mark system with guidelines, and a rebrand that covers athletics, academics, and signage are three different scopes. The tables above are that split.
How many schools share it. A single campus is a package. A district is scoped by the number of campuses, starting at $22,000.
Whether a costume design already exists. The costume prices on the pricing page assume we adapt a design you have. Designing the mascot and then building it starts at $4,750 for Simple and $6,250 for Premium.
What you replace after the design is approved. Signs, uniforms, vehicles, and gym floors are not in the design packages. The district articles above show schools spreading that work across later budgets.
Rush costume timelines are available for homecoming and reveal dates. The site does not publish a rush fee, so a date does not change the starting price on its own. Ask, and the quote will say whether the date can be met.
How you pay
Card or bank transfer (ACH or wire). Purchase orders are welcome as paperwork. Payment follows the schedule below. It does not follow net-30, and we do not accept checks.
- A mascot costume is paid in full. Shipping is quoted separately.
- Logo and identity work under $2,000: paid in full to begin.
- Larger design packages: 50 percent to begin, and 50 percent when you choose a direction, before revisions.
