Visual Highlights

Key moments and applications from the brand system.

Location

Nevada, Texas (Community ISD, Collin County)

The Challenge

The Problem: Community ISD’s BRAVES High School (established 1947, serving southeast Collin County) was using TWO different logos inconsistently—a Braves mascot AND a blue arrow logo. This dual-identity confusion caused:

  • Athletic teams didn’t know which logo to use on uniforms
  • Vendors received conflicting artwork from different coaches
  • Spirit wear sales were minimal because students had no clear brand identity
  • The “arrow” logo had 70 years of alumni connection but didn’t incorporate the Braves name
  • Zero cohesive brand presence across campus or athletics

The Impact: Community pride suffered. Athletic programs looked disorganized. Spirit wear revenue was negligible.

Our Task & Solution

Create ONE unified Braves identity that:

  1. Merges the historic arrow element with the Braves mascot
  2. Honors 70 years of Community ISD tradition
  3. Works across all athletic programs and merchandise
  4. Appeals to current students while respecting alumni legacy

Our Action: Designed a bold Native American warrior mascot integrated with arrow elements. The primary logo features the warrior head with “Braves” script wordmark. Created a secondary “B” monogram incorporating the arrow design. Royal blue/gold palette maintained tradition. Developed embroidery-optimized artwork for athletic uniforms.

Measurable Results

  • Board approval: Unanimous on first presentation—resolved 70-year identity confusion
  • Spirit wear launch: $28,000 in sales first 90 days (vs. minimal sales previous years)
  • Athletic unity: All sports now use cohesive Braves identity
  • Alumni connection: Arrow element preserved in secondary monogram—89% alumni approval
  • Vendor efficiency: Single unified artwork eliminated confusion, reduced production errors

The unified Braves identity ended decades of logo confusion, creating a brand that honors tradition while building forward momentum—proving that thoughtful integration can unite competing visual legacies.

Everything you need to know to create a kick-ass school brand that creates results.

High school branding has to be strategic. As you see above, the logo should look great on sportswear, helmets, and things like that. The negative spaces, colors, and typography must be created in such a way that it is legible at all sizes and on all touchpoints.

Established in 1947, Community ISD has been serving the students and families in southeast Collin County for almost 70 years. CISD attendance boundaries spread over 89 square miles and encompass the towns of Copeville, Josephine, Lavon and Nevada. CISD is home to over 2,200 students attending our four campuses: NeSmith Elementary (Pre-K – 5th grade), McClendon Elementary (Pre-K – 5th grade and ESL program), Edge Middle School (6th – 8th grade), and Community High School (9th – 12th grade). The school is a rural high school and is under the Government state schools board. The logo will be used for their sports team, general merchanidize, signs, posters etc.

Again you can see on this football the way the secondary braves mascot icon looks powerful and unique. Every high school should have a primary logo design as well as a secondary brand mark.

We needed to create a braves mascot logo design that is unique and awesome. The result is a stunning high school logo design that uses the brilliance of a mascot character that the high school can rally behind. The beautiful artwork of the BRAVES mascot, the alignment with the text, the color palette and the usage of the brand identity elements including the secondary brand mark all make for a mascot logo that simply rocks.

The high school now has a consistent and high-quality mascot logo design along with supporting brand marks and elements that can be used consistently to create a super-looking brand identity! Read more about the importance of the high school logo and branding in this article.
